Don't Say Anything

I saw the below in another blog and thought it interesting.

Oxford complied a list of the top most irritating phrases. I thought this list was funny and pretty interesting. I am definitely guilty of using some of these regularly. This makes me laugh because I didn't realize how annoying and overused these phrases are until now.

1 - At the end of the day

2 - Fairly unique

3 - I personally

4 - At this moment in time

5 - With all due respect

6 - Absolutely

7 - It's a nightmare

8 - Shouldn't of

9 - 24/7

10 - It's not rocket science

I would add "to be honest", "no offense but", "I know, but" and "the truth of the matter is". Any more you would like to add?

  1. Howdy, Zipper Man. Today, over five years after it was launched, I rediscovered the "retired YKK zipper people" blog . It bugs me that you took the time to launch it, as well as offer topics for conversation, but no on else (including me) joined in.
Nearly 15 years after retirement, I still frequently dream about YKK and/or the people with whom I worked. The years I spent with the company were the best of my life BECAUSE I was with the company. Call me a simple-minded person, but I devoured T. Yoshida's books and took to heart his lessons, not just about business but about life. I especially got on board his encouragement that managers think of themselves as working farmers - not just planning and overseeing, but also manning the tractor to cultivate, plant and harvest. I tend to support Democrats, but if every corporation had the integrity, fairness, and spirit of corporate citizenship that YKK does, I could be a Republican..
